Dr. De Las Casas received his medical degree from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru. He served his residency in internal medicine at Baylor College of Medicine and affiliated hospitals where he was Chief Resident at Ben Taub and St. Luke’s Episcopal Hospital. He completed his fellowship in Medical Oncology and Hematology at University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, Texas. He also received a Master of Public Health degree from University of Texas School of Public Health in Houston, Texas.
Dr. De Las Casas spent two years at the ClínicaAnglo Americana (British-American Hospital) in Lima, Peru, as Chief of the Medical Oncology and Hematology Unit. He was Assistant Professor at University of Texas M.D. Anderson Cancer Center’s Department of Breast Medical Oncology in Houston, Texas where he also worked at LBJ Hospital. He also served as Assistant Professor in Internal Medicine at University of Texas Health Science Center in Houston.
Dr. De Las Casas served as Section Chief in Hematology and Medical Oncology at West Palm Beach Veterans Affairs Medical Center in West Palm Beach, Florida. Most recently, he spent three years at Audie L. Murphy VA Hospital in San Antonio, Texas, before joining Texas Transplant Physician Group.
Dr. De Las Casas is an honorary visiting professor from Universidad Peruana Cayetano Heredia in Lima, Peru. He is board at certified in Internal Medicine and Hematology/Oncology.
